Happiness Indicator
The Happiness Indicator is a research project at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands, initiated by expert happiness researchers Prof. Ruut Veenhoven, Prof. Arnold B. Bakker, and Dr. Wido G.M. Oerlemans.
The Happiness Indicator is a self-help website as well as a scientific follow-up study on the topic of happiness, lifestyle, and life choices. The website offers you instant feedback on your happiness, based on scientifically validated research tools. With these tools, you are able to:
Compare your monthly happiness with other users;
Track changes in your monthly happiness, and;
Use a time-based diary to get instant feedback on your daily activity patterns, happiness derived from your activities, and much more!
A Dutch version of The Happiness Indicator (GeluksWijzer) was first launched in 2010 in The Netherlands, and has attracted more than 30.000 users in one year. It also generated ample attention in the Dutch media, and offered a rich source of data for users, practitioners as well as academic researchers to understand causes and consequences of happiness. Therefore, we created an English version called the Happiness Indicator for people outside of the Netherlands to use.
